Vietnam Alphabet J

There is no J in Vietnamese. No places, no food, no clothing. We have struggled to find something for the letter J in our Vietnam Alphabet. In English, though,
J = Jasmine

I love the amazing tropical flowers' scents here in Vietnam.  When we picked our plants for our potted garden, we chose four jasmine plants of one variety and three of another.  When even one white flower is in bloom, it fills our entryway with its scent.

The other flower I just love is called Joy Perfume Tree--Michelia champaca.  I have loved this scent since we arrived, but only just identified where it is coming from when I smell it.  The trees are very plain looking, and from the ground, you can't really see the flowers because they are unobtrusive and high up. It's a magic smell.  I wish I could give a link to the smell itself.

Of course,
J  = Jacksons in Vietnam
We love that we are here.

  1. More really good photos and Colin's outfit — yes! Trevor, it's cool that you got to test drive the buffalo. Lauren, scent memories are very powerful. Perhaps you'll smell that flower in future and it will transport you back to Vietnam. And I'm glad you liked Hoi An so much Mike.
